Chapter one alone in the text was filled with tons of information. I learned about the ARCS Model and Digital Students for the first time. The four important points of this model are Attention, Relevance, Challenge/Confidence, and Satisfaction/Success. I was also introduced to the ISTE which is the International Society for Technology in Education. They developed the National Education Technology Standards. I had never heard of this before. I also never realized how technology really helps get kids interested in the information being presented and makes learning more fun. It is so much more intriguing to watch a Power Point presentation than to watch the teacher scribble on the chalkboard all day.Since my last posting I have learned a little more about SAM. I bought the software having no idea what it was and after downloading it on my computer I am becoming a little more familiar with it and look forward to learning even more. I have also completed a Practice Test on Windows XP and realized I know more about the program than I thought.For some strange reason my Blogger username and password wasnt working and I dont know if I wrote it down wrong or what but I encourage everyone to remember theres so they dont have to start all over again like I did. I even reset my password and it still wouldn't work, it was very frustrating. I wish things could just be more simpler over all when it comes to technology.

I personally use technology all the time. I couldnt live without my cell phone or the internet. However I am not very experienced with different software programs like SAM or Exel. I have used Power Point and things like that in high school but I am not the best at it. I find some technology to be frustrating and I hope that will change.
In this class I hope to become fimiliar with different software programs so that one day when I am a teacher I can teach my students using power point shows and other types of new technology. I also hope to become familiar with SAM since I have no clue what it is exactly and I have to use it in my computer literacy class as well and I dont want to fall behind. After this class I hope to not get frustrated when using new software but instead get excited because I now know what I am doing.
I am from Chicago and I just moved to Florida two years ago. I have lived up North my whole life and hope to move back to teach after graduation. I have lived in Maryland and Ohio as well and I love going back and visiting. I also love to travel and my favorite place is Italy!
